Future Legacies

Living Legacies of Ventura County presents “Future Legacies” a youth program designed to ease middle school girls in discussing real life issues that are affecting them.  The small, secure group environment will facilitate healthy discussions and experimental learning about various topics & issues that impact these girls daily.  We are looking for girls who are interested in personal growth, connecting with others for learning experiences and willing to participate in a group environment.

Our theme of the evening will be “self-esteem” and “Who do I want to be.” Group leader is Tristen Vance, Licensed Family Therapist.  She has worked with children for over 15 years and including 10 years at Casa Pacifica, a shelter in Camarillo for abused & neglected children.  Tristen has a remarkable way of connecting with youth in her witty, hip and distinctive way!  The conversations are hinged on individual strengths; meant to increase confidence, individual purpose and promote the importance of friendships.  These discussions will provide another means to navigate through this potentially exciting, but often complicated life stage.

Assisting Tristen will be Shelly Ehler, who is a wife, mother, former teacher and inspiration to many with her enthusiasm and energy for life to include her entrepreneurial spirit, where she appeared on The Today Show & Shark Tank for her ShowNo towel http://www.showno.com…she will “share her story” with the girls.
